Holy Fuck: "Lovely Allen"
"At once elegant and spazzy, "Lovely Allen" centers on a repeated "Baba O'Riley" keyboard melody. The bass starts out metronomic but also invigorating-- hmm, The Motorik Diaries?-- and then distorted guitars come on like a brawnier New Pornographers. When Final Fantasy's Owen Pallett adds his violin to the mix, the track achieves that kind of miniature cinematic rush some bands have to swap interminable soft verses and loud choruses to achieve."
