Holy Fuck are fellow proponents of imagination making guitars sound like computers, drumming with metrenomic precision and scattering clicks and bleeps straight out onto the dance floor.

You're pretty much screwed if you see the best band of a festival on the opening night, but Holy Fuck (pictured; above) decided to do just that. The all-live dance n' beats extravaganza sends me and half the room off in raptures. Clearly loving every minute of it, Holy Fuck ascend and nearly smash through the ceiling in terms of intensity, layering and volume. Truly one of the best live bands I've ever seen.

The Drowned In Sound Top SIX Bands To Go Rock Out To!!!
#2 Holy Fuck
Thursday 9pm @ Ocean Rooms
Thursday midnight @ Pav Tav (downstairs)
This Canadian mega-group ply an interesting trade of organic electronica where they shun all usage of laptops, pre-programmed backing tracks in favour of Real Instruments with Real Soul creating experimental improvised songs where not even they know what will happen. They, of course, have the sole intent of making the crowd and themselves go absolutely nuts. Also playing twice, others also seem to expect big things from the indie instrumental dance-rockers.
