Holy Fuck might screw about with toy instruments, but when it comes to making a killer party record, they're not kidding around. Not entirely, anyway. You can hear the instrumental Toronto foursome (comprised of Blue Rodeo/Swallows drummer Glenn Milchem, King Cobb Steelie bassist Kevin Lynn and lo-fi effects assault team Brian Borcherdt and Graham Walsh) shouting "woo hoo!" and "yeah!" amid the live-to-tape recording of this thunderous and relentless faux-electronica breakdance bash of a debut, so you know they're definitely having a lot of fun with this -- as will you. Holy Fuck waste no time blasting into high gear on a rocket set for the centre of your pelvis, making it sway with a mixture of funky sensibility and chaotic urgency. As the swirling insanity builds and releases, you'll be powerless to avoid getting caught up in Holy Fuck's celebratory spasms. KEVIN HAINEY
