Forget polite toe-tapping or lukewarm head-bobbing — if you've taken even a cursory listen to Wolf Parade's Apologies to the Queen Mary, chances are you were instinctually sent into maniacal, full-on rock-out mode, air-drumming and lip-synching your way into pure indie-rock ecstasy, office decorum be damned. With pounding, insistent drum lines, superglue hooks, and the impeccably off-kilter vocal gymnastics of Spencer Krug and Dan Boeckner, the Parade's live shows are the stuff of recent legend. Better carbo-load pre-show; you're in for an anaerobic workout. Carnivalesque pop weirdos Frog Eyes and free-improv freaks the Holy Fuck open.
