Employee of the Month

Day 8 - we’re in London! The lack of updates is a result of the fact that we’ve been hanging on for dear life. Like I mentioned last time, our van broke down after our show in Barcelona, conveniently on a bank holiday weekend. Thankfully we had some days off to work with, here’s what we pulled off:

  • Sunday, 2 pm: took a taxi from Barcelona to Perpignan while Robbie stayed in Barcelona with the van. The taxi ride was this much fun:

  • Sunday, 7 pm: after getting lost in Perpignan with a cabbie we couldn’t communicate with we managed to get our rental car and drive to Strasbourg.
  • Monday, 4 am: arrived in Strasbourg, argued with the front desk clerk at the hotel and collapsed.
  • Monday, 9 pm-ish: played in Strasbourg, ate a lot.
  • Tuesday, 9 am: left for Paris, still no word on our decrepit van.
  • Tuesday, 4 pm: arrived in Pairs, negotiated the crazy traffic circles and played our show while Robbie flew from Barcelona to London, got in a new van and started driving overnight from London to Paris.
  • Wednesday, 10:30 am: Robbie, having not yet slept, picked us up in Paris and started driving back to London straight away.
  • Wednesday, 7 pm: arrived at Koko in London!
  • Phew! Now to play our last show with !!!. Their show last night in Paris was absolutely blinding and tonight is there last show for a long while, so it should be a wild night. More to come…

Internot

November 3rd, 2007

Internet is scarce in Spain! The lack of internet, however, may explain why everyone is so damn nice and awesome. We played in Barcelona last night and the hospitality was second-to-none. Not to mention the fact that I ate a rabbit.

Our night ended on a sour note though as our van broke down just as we were pulling into Sitges, where we’ve been staying for a couple of nights. We may have to cancel a show on account of it, but we still be able to pull it off. And if we can’t, then I’ll have no choice but to go swimming in the Mediterranean again…

Anyway, so many more updates and photos to share, but the logistics just aren’t in our favour right now. I will leave you with a shot of the first major find in Madrid: Spanish Timbits!
